Where are the old areas for our public comments on ebay, eCommerce sites, comments on ebay offers, etc?

I want to know  how to edit an active or scheduled listing.  I've looked everywhere,  it was no problem to find this inkfrog 1 - I'm trying to get used to Inkfrog2.

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed that many of the informative posts in the old forums made by both the IF support team and also by knowledgeable IF members (such as pocomocomputing) will not be re-posted on these forums. pocomo and many other members volunteered their time and their knowledge to make those tutorials/posts and it's just a shame that they were tossed out. Those posts/threads helped out many members (including myself when I rejoined).

I do understand that InkFrog's main concern was to get the site up and running as quickly as possible in order for the members to be able to access their information and to continue working and that the forums were not the first priority. I also understand that this site does not belong to any of us, it belongs to InkFrog therefore we have no voice in this matter...you can do with this site and the forums as you wish however, it just seems like a slap in the face to all of the members who devoted their time to helping others to have their posts and threads just poofed.

I recently reinstated my InkFrog account...even though I have been absent for a while I am not a new IF member. I have been with IF ever since they took SpareDollar over. I have always had the utmost respect for Greg and the entire IF staff so I am willing to give you all the benefit of the doubt that the destruction of the previous posts was something that could not be avoided however, somewhere, I hope that the information that was in those former posts can somehow be duplicated in the Tutorials section of this new forum.

Hopefully we can all recover from the recent events that took place here and move on together as a community...

1) I don't mind that IF1 is gone... BUT some things in IF 2 never work and we have to go to IF 1.0 to do it.
Example... try changing a title or sku number in inventory. You can't! We used to go to IF1 to do that/ This kind of 2.0 glitch must be ironed out.

2). there was a running thread on the old forum listing such glitches. If you won't let us back in, will you please at least look at it! Some of it is stuff that really needs fixing!

3) overall I love many of the changes made. Multi sku option for listings looks 100 times nicer/ easier, and the layout for library listings is excellent with summary of qtys etc.

4) is there an actual forum anymore or just one long running comment thread??

Jackie, I have found a way to recover old community posts using google.  I just added one as a test in Tips and Tricks forum.  I will re-post some of the posts that I made and others that I can remember.  This will take time, I will add a few at a time.  If you can remember one that you want done first, I will re-post it first.  As well, I will re-post tips from other users also.

Greg, if possible, can you create additional forums like the old ones: eBay News, InkFrog Support, Online eCommerce Talk, Custom Templates.  I can then restore old info into the appropriate forum.  The General Forum is too restrictive as far as categories are concerned.  However, if it is more a tip, I will put it back into the Tip and Tricks forum.

HI! I have not been listing much for the past few months and am starting up again.  I was under the impression that my library listings would be kept forever.  Iam having trouble locating listings to relist.  Has your policy changed with regard to saved listings?   How do you contact support?

HOW TO START A NEW THREAD

When you log in into the forums, it goes by default to the Announcements forums.  Just look to you right and you see the forums available.  Click on the appropriate forum and then start a topic.  Please note that the available forums are few.  In most cases, use the GENERAL forum.

You can also navigate by clicking on the top of the thread.  The two big words Forums / Announcements are hyperlinks.  Click on Forums to get the equivalent list of forums that you can on the right.

Greg, I think inkFrog should change the default when logging in to these forums to the Forums list and not a specific Forum like Announcements.

Is anyone else having issues with auctions not auto-relisting? I've had several issues with this which is costing me money and still no reply from inkfrog...Poor service. I have my auctions set to auto-relist 100 times whether something sells or doesn't sell and I know I haven't sold 100 yet nor have they ended 100 times either! It would take over 8 years to stop auto-relisting if none sold.  Any answers INKFROG?!?!?!?

Wow - sure hope that doesn't happen to me.  I haven't been on this site for several years now - thought I could save a little money compared to Vendio so I jumped back over here.  I do not think that it is as smooth working as some of the others.   I love Vendio, but hate to pay the additional fees on everything.  So far I haven't lost any of my pictures.  There are too many gadgets for one thing.  Slows down the listing time for me.

Hate to tell you this guys, I really don't think inkfrog will be around much longer with this type of crap. I'm currently looking into Vendio vs Auctiva. I'm almost done with inkfrog and don't plan on looking back. Before the recent attack site disruption, they seemed to be pretty good but I've found myself with the same problems as everyone here has faced including pics disappearing/ jumping auctions. "Submitting a ticket" is a ridiculous means of solving a problem in my opinion. How about phone support, email or just a worthy chat help like auction site it supports. Oh well. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and for me, inkfrog is the weakest link and has already cost me money on some of my heavy hitter auctions! I'm furious but what is one to do next to cancel subscription? For me, it's the only way to protect my assets since this is not just play money for me. It's how I earn a living. This is hiring someone to do a job and them not doing it. I wish I would've known...

Well, I paid for one month and it sounds like I probably won't be here longer than that.  I hated Activa - too much moving around to get one thing done - a lot of time consumed to do one thing.  Think I am headed back to Vendio - I always end up there - don't really know why I think anyone is better.  I just hate to double my fees that's all.

What issue exactly are you guys having? Did you check your trash section to see if your images show up in there? Are you using our post sale rules to delete images from sold listings?

also, can you give us specifics? What image got removed? What was the name of it. We can check our logs and see if we can find out if a post sale rule was used.

I am showing both of those listings are using the post sale rule to auto delete images 7 days after they sell. Are you maybe relisting these listings from the sold section after they are sold? The images for these listings will get deleted. If you relist these items from sold, do not use this post sale rule.

My current problem is that the images show correctly in the IF
listing and then seem to alter themselves on route to eBay. On IF the images on the listing are correct with the number of the first picture corresponding to the number in the gallery box
and then on arrival at eBay the first image in the bunch shows up correctly but the
gallery is wrong and a totally out of the blue images shows in its place. I have pointed this out to Heather and given her the listing number to check for herself but she doesn't comment on this in her reply.  She doesn't even bother to let me know if she has even looked at the listing to see what the problem is.

Sheila, were these brand new listings that you created, relisted and/or created from sold or unsold listings? I'm noticing all of your unsold and sold listings have the rule to auto delete the images once they sell. This will delete the images from your account so they are no longer there. If you relist a new listing from these, the images will be removed.

Vera, Do you mean they change the order in which they show? Are you using our image selector? You should always use the image selector from our lister when possible in your listings. The order they show there is the order they will arrive on eBay. The first image (from the selector) is what will be used as the gallery image.

If you are coming from inkfrog 1.0, you may need to make a few adjustments to the way you were listing previously and get your images inside our images selection section on the lister. This will ensure they stay up with eBay's latest changes and work best with our lister etc.

How did you create these listings? I realize they were launched as new listings, but did you create them from a sold listing (a different sold listing?). I'm showing all of your sold listings, and your unsold listings are using the post sale rule to delete images from them when sold.  So lets go over a scenario:

1. you launch a listing, and choose to delete the images on this listing 7 days after it sells. This listing uses image named "myimage123.jpg".

2. this item sells, and this post sale rule goes into affect. In 7 days, the "myimage123.jpg" will be deleted.

3. You launch a brand new listing, and it also uses the same image name "myimage123.jpg" before this 7 days is due.

4. The 7 day period hits, and that image gets deleted. It gets deleted from your sold listing, but also your live listing because it's using the same named image.

This is what appears to have happened in your case (or something similar). If you are creating new listings, make sure you rename your images to a unique name. You can even include part of the title in your image names if you wish if that helps keep it on it's own. I notice you are keeping the standard image names from your camera, and this can cause the same image names to be used over and over because the camera will usually name images the same name and a number.

hope this makes sense.

What I recommend for you is to NOT use this post sale rule for deleting images. Go to your live listings and use the post sale rules->remove post sale rules optiion to remove this rule. If you do not use this rule, you will not have this issue.

March 19, 2010 14:35

I created these listings Wed,Mar.17th. Not from a sold listing or a different listing. These are brand new original listings. I do not know how else to tell you they haven't been in any other place until I created them, this Wed. I was not getting any other images,I just lost the ones I had.  How do you rename the photo's? Inkfrog 1 let you do it easier. I have no idea how to change the names or titles to the new pictures. You don't show it anywhere? This is not the problem as i do not have an inventory of old unsold items. I haven't sold on Ebay for 3 months even though i have been paying for Inkfrog those months.

Then it means you used the same image names as an item that sold with this rule, so it deleted it from your account. So do not use this rule on any listings if you use the same image names on other listings. This is very important.

regarding renaming your images, you can do this from the 'edit-->rename' option in your images section.

The post sale rule option is on the lister when you create a listing. You will see it in the post sale rules section.

Im very suprised and a bit upset that inkfrog would just delete the old forum and make a new one.  Surely there hasnt been that many changes to the IF website/system to make the accumulated posts in the old forums irrelevant...  I dont know,  this move by IF confuses me as a subscriber.

March 19, 2010 21:04
User photo
pocomocomputing

valencia, don't be upset.  The reason why they deleted the old forums was because inkFrog had a virus get on their site through the old forums.  InkFrog shut down for a day or so and rebuilt their web site.  This was a clean start.  Rather than risk carrying forward the virus, they chose to get rid of everything.  It would be very difficult to grab the old posts and threads.

If you use Google and use advanced search, specify community.inkfrog.com as the website and then search on the keywords of the old inkFrog posts you want to find.  When the results show up, click on the cached option for the hits returned and you can view many old posts.  A real pain in the butt but it can be done.  I can find some things but other times I can't.

If you have a specific thread or post you want to find, I can try and find it and repost it here in a new thread.

Are we not getting version 1 back? I don't care for version 2. One of the things is, it shows sold items, but items may still be listed, and only part of them have sold. Then the listing errors out (which is good, because it's still running). I think 2 is very clunky. I spent a lot of time learning 1 when I first came. I really don't want to learn another. It's just not (IMO) as intuitive as 1.

No, IF 1 is gone. You will have to learn IF 2.  Go to the tutorials and review them to help speed up learning where everything is.  And ask questions here for more help.  There are many fine members here willing to help when you get stuck.

I am so tired of all of my profile set up ending up in my description. It all turns into html and ends up in the description. Including the template, shipping terms, shipping instructions, the counter disappears, my return policy disappears and my image becomes an external url. What the #$%^&* is this? Do you know what a pain in the neck it is to edit my listings???? And get this.....So I go in, clean them up, revise them, and go back and they are a mess again. Anyone else having this problem? I would say 9 out of 10 of my live listings are like this. I asked help what was up and they told me if I go into my listing through eBay this will do this to them. Well even if I don't go into my listings through eBay it still happens. I'm tired of the inefficiency of Inkfrog. Definitely considering leaving. I have better things to do with my time than clean up listings.

Hi Maxine, it takes some time, especially on Saturday and Sunday's for eBay to get all the new listing indexed.  Have you gone to IF clicked on Listings > Active?  Then if they are there you will see the assigned eBay # , click it.  If they open on eBay then they are there?  This is not a fault of InkFrog but eBay.
Are you new to eBay and or InkFrog?

I've also put in Tickets to support but no answers. The online Support is just a waste of time. Speak to them and they just pass it on to someone in outer Space and you never hear anymore. They say on the new fancy homepage they have THOUSANDS of customers. Lets just say they only have 3,000 customers, thats $29,850 coming in every month so you would think they could have some sort of Support. for their paying customers. I'm sure if we all ran our business like this we would go bust in no time.

Same old Bull over and over again from them. "We are looking into that sir" Thats all they do is look maybe a bit of action would be nice on their part.

POST SALE DELETION OF IMAGES WAS VERY USEFUL IF USED CAREFULLY.

PLEASE TRY TO REINTRODUCE SOME FORM OF AUTOMATIC IMAGE DELETION SO THAT THE REMOVAL OF THIS OPTION CANNOT BE CONSIDERED A METHOD OF INCREASING COSTS TO SELLERS

WHERE IS THE "GENERAL"  FORUM???!!!

It is GONE!!

Is that why I didn't receive a single update today except the one in this Forum??

For that matter - I never posted in this Forum before - so why the update?

Hopefully, it is down for maintenace.  Or a bug.  Who knows, these forums are very poor in features.

I feel so out on a limb right now! ...discovered all kinds of things that don't work or have been mixed around - my ticket was closed without my knowing it - my "Library" listings are suddenly backwards and random and some have propagated entirely on their own - html for templates is missing from my Code View - I CANNOT make a new folder in the Library - For the first time in all these years I am thinking of going elsewhere. The prospect is daunting. I don't want to.

It's as if the entire staff just thru up their hands and went out to get blasted...

If the GENERAL Forum is down or has been deleted or what EVER - there should be an announcement on the ANNOUNCEMENT thread of this Fourm, at least.

I had no idea that the New Support Center and Forums  thread to post about problems and get answers was here with comments and answers and I'll bet few others do either.

That would have been nice, instead of just another "Poof" gone with no explanation.

Wow...without general forums they might just as well take the forums down altogether because there sure isn't much use for them otherwise.  I know the general area is still up on Highwire and we answer a lot of each others questions and get advice on our stores over there.  To log in here after I was there and couldn't find the general forum was pretty discouraging.

For some reason, my listings were sent to EBay as "Buy It Now" although I never chose or wanted them to be and I can not figure out how to change it.  I tried doing it from Ebay and it will not work.  Anyone have any insight?

Go into IF and find the live listing and take the BIN price out and click revise....that should do it.  I had one go up with BIN today also and just ended it because it was a dup of one I have ending in one day....

Help.  I am trying to put my html listing in the description box but when I preview all I am is getting the description.  No background color, spacing or anything else.  Just the code & typing.

Well, I can actually finally say that I am getting on to the way this site is set up.  Finally getting the photos and stuff all figured out.  Made a couple of templates and that helps tremendously.  I do love the way we can revise a listing on eBay without going in there and deleting it and starting over again.  I just takes a little time and patience - knock on wood.  I had a heck of a time and stayed away from the site for a few days and finally came back to it tonight and just went ever so smoothly.

Just opened my old computer to edit and upload photos [ONLY!] to IF. I have to use that computer with THAT camera.

So what do I get for a greeting? I know this - I have it set deliberately at that resolution!

Screen Resolution Warning!

Your computer screen resolution is currently set to 800x600. While you can still use our site with this resolution, we recommend increasing your resolution to 1024x768. inkFrog will work and show much better for you in this resolution. If you need any help with this, please contact support.

But this one is blaring RED large font was really unpleasant. What is meant by cease completely?!?!

Attention! You're using the Internet Explorer 6.0 browser! Please, read all instructions below and upgrade as fast as possible!

As of last week the Internet Explorer 6.0 browser is no longer supported by all major web development companies. Please, use this page to download the Internet Explorer 7.0 or later or use the FireFox browser, which can be downloaded from this page.

Please, note that, although for now you can still access your inkFrog account using the Internet Explorer 6.0, but in future IE 6.0 support will be ceased completely!

I am writing this on the old ME2000 with IE6 with 800 resolution. Photos uploaded just fine. Floating windows worked just fine. IE6 is not supported by IE anyway. I know that. But is InkFrog going to do something so that I cannot use it even to upload photos??? I do everything else on the other computer with XP with Firefox.

Please don't disable my ability to upload my photos!

Internet Explorer 6.0, but in future IE 6.0 support will be ceased completely!

That means if you Don't upgrade to IE7 or Firefox then yes you won't be able to use your old computer and IF for Anything.

Stone (Steve), Is the WYSIWYG is "Code View"?  I did click on this.  I can't find a WYSIWYG button.
